Overview
As a UX consultant through an agency partnership with Chubb Insurance, I was brought on to lead the redesign of Chubb’s digital experience across global markets. The goal was to create a unified design system that could meet the diverse needs of Chubb’s user base—ranging from businesses and consumers to insurance agents—across multiple countries, while improving overall brand consistency, accessibility, and usability.

Chubb Insurance operates in many countries, each with its own unique regulatory requirements and user expectations. Their existing digital platforms were inconsistent across regions, which led to fragmented user experiences and inefficient workflows for both customers and agents. The challenge was to design a flexible yet unified system that would enhance the digital experience globally while respecting local variations.
Approach
Research & Insights
To ensure we deeply understood the needs of each user segment (businesses, consumers, and agents), I collaborated with 2 UX researchers to conduct both qualitative and quantitative research:
- Qualitative Research: Interviews and user testing with stakeholders across various regions to gather firsthand insights about pain points, workflows, and cultural differences.
- Quantitative Research: Analytics review and surveys to identify usage patterns and areas for improvement across the current digital platforms.
These research methods helped us uncover critical insights about how users interact with Chubb's services, which informed the design strategy.
Solution

Unified Global Design System
We developed a global design system that was flexible, allowing for localization while maintaining a unified brand identity. Key features of the system included:
- Consistency: Ensured a seamless user experience across all countries while supporting local variations in content, language, and regulations.
- Accessibility: Prioritized accessibility improvements, making Chubb’s platforms easier to navigate for all users, regardless of ability or location.
- Omnichannel Approach: Designed for consistency across all digital channels (web, mobile, etc.), ensuring users could easily interact with Chubb wherever they were.

Collaborative Partnership with Chubb
Throughout the process, I collaborated closely with Chubb's executives and technical leadership. This partnership ensured that the design system aligned with their business goals and technical capabilities while meeting the practical needs of users in different markets.

Outcome
The redesigned digital experience was successfully launched across multiple global markets, leading to significant improvements in several key areas:
- Increased Usability: The more intuitive design made it easier for users to find relevant information, leading to increased customer satisfaction.
- Improved Lead Generation: The refined user journey and clear call-to-action elements resulted in more accurate lead capture across digital channels.
- Brand Consistency: Chubb’s digital presence was unified across regions, strengthening its global brand.
- Accessibility Enhancements: Improved accessibility features ensured that the platform was more inclusive and easier to navigate for users with disabilities.
